First Edition, SIGNED & INSCRIBED by Nin to Claude Fredericks / A New-Story Book/The British Book Centre, Inc, Paris/New York, 1954 / No dust-jacket, spine a bit cocked, minor darkening to boards. Nin and Fredericks --
an American poet, playwright, printer, writer, and teacher -- were close in the 1940's, shared diary writing in common and would read each other their journals. Nin suggested that Claude take up printing and got him a job with the Gemor Press. He then went on to found the Banyan Press. The inscription, in ink on ffep reads: "For Claude: hoping to get a book written by you, in return. Anaïs."
