Description
NY: Gemor Press, 1945, number 43 of 50 of the singed deluxe editions illustrated with five colored woodblock prints from Ian Hugo. Additionally, this copy is inscribed by Nin to Claude Fredericks and signed by Nin and Hugo. "For Claude who revealed as much about the "boy" as I do about the women in his novel May I read it in print soon Your friend Anaïs...and Hugo". Claude Fredericks was
an American poet, playwright, printer, writer, and teacher -- were close in the 1940's, shared diary writing in common and would read each other their journals. Nin suggested that Claude take up printing and got him a job with the Gemor Press. He then went on to found the Banyan Press. The condition of the book is generally excellent, no noticeable flaws.
